PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold which can easily take out the glass molding when dropt molten glass droplets are press-molded to produce a glass molding having confronted two molded faces and an outside diameter regulation face, and to provide a method for producing the glass molding by which the glass molding having the outside diameter regulation face can be efficiently produced by using the mold. SOLUTION: The mold includes: a first die face for receiving molten glass droplets and molding the first molded face of a glass molding; a second die face for molding the second molded face confronted with the first molded face; and a regulation die face for molding an outside diameter regulation face. The regulation die face is provided with a protective film composed of a metal selected from the group consisting of ruthenium (Ru), rhodium (Rh), palladium (Pd), silver (Ag), osmium (Os), iridium (Ir), platinum (Pt) and gold (Au) or an alloy including the metal.
