The actuator (10) has a box (12) closed by a cover (14) and housing a hollow actuation unit i.e. diaphragm rod (16), that is mobile in translation. A control valve (46) i.e. rotary slide valve, mobile in rotation is associated to the actuation unit. The control valve modifies pressure level in a working chamber (21). A controlling edge (64) is provided with the control valve along a helix layout, and is made of PTFE loaded or unloaded with graphite powder.
