PURPOSE: A signal processing method and apparatus are provided to efficiently reproduce a phase or delay difference by shifting the phase of an audio or voice signal decoded based on the phase shift flag. CONSTITUTION: In order to up-mix a down-mixed signal generated from a multi-channel signal, spatial information representing the property of the multi-channel signal is received. An inter-channel phase difference coding flag is obtained from the header of the spatial information, which represents whether inter-channel phase difference value is used for the spatial information. An inter-channel phase difference mode flag is obtained from a frame based on the inter-channel phase difference coding flag, which represents inter-channel phase difference value is used for the frame. The inter-channel phase difference value is obtained for every parameter band of the frame based on the inter-channel phase difference mode flag. The inter-channel phase difference value is applied to the down-mixed signal and a multi-channel signal is generated. The phase of one or more channels from the multi-channel signal is shift based on the phase shift flag.
