<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a stable engine test cannot be performed because the mechanical system of an engine bench system has a resonant point of a certain frequency, and shaft torque and speed become oscillative when nearing a mechanical oscillation frequency on controlling the speed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An engine bench system control system includes: a step of calculating a dynamometer torque from the difference of the torque command obtained from integration means to the velocity deviation between the velocity set value of a dynamometer and a velocity detection, and a torque command obtained from calculation means of a secondary transfer function to the velocity detection; and a step of outputting the calculated dynamometer torque to an inverter as a dynamometer torque command. Also, by obtaining the spring rigidity of a coupling shaft by converting the velocity control parameter used for the calculation means to a resonant frequency corresponding to the torsional torque detected by the shaft torque meter, the stable engine test becomes possible even for a non-linear engine bench system.
