<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slit cover for a side ditch cover capable of preventing a pedestrian from damaging his/her shoes or the like and stumbling and being injured, ensuring a function as a water dropping hole satisfactorily, enlarging a scope of water collection, preventing a comparatively large object from dropping into a side ditch, preventing the slit cover from being broken due to mutual contact of opposing faces of adjacent side ditch covers, and making its upper face flush with an upper face of the side ditch cover to eliminate a step. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This slit cover for the side ditch cover is provided with a spacer member 30 mounted on a cover receiving step face 12 formed on right and left side walls 11 of a side ditch body 1 and abutting on the opposing faces of the side ditch covers 2 to keep an interval constant, a construction member 31 stretched over between upper ends of the spacer member to form a slit-like right and left part clearance S1 among the opposing faces and it, and a cover member 32 attached to the construction member while it is just stored in a hole 22 formed by a cut-in face 21 for applying hand to form a slit-like hole part clearance S2.
