PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (poly)alkylene glycol chain-containing thiol polymer modified monomer having various performance, especially excellent hydrolysis resistant performance and dispersion performance and useful for uses of a dispersant, a cement mixing agent and the like, to provide the dispersant and the cement mixing agent, including the polymer and to provide a cement composition. SOLUTION: The polymer having a (poly)alkylene glycol chain has a polymer moiety including a unit originating from an unsaturated monomer component bonded to at least one end of the (poly)alkylene glycol chain via a sulfur atom-containing group. At least one unit of the end of the (poly)alkylene glycol chain is an oxyalkylene group having three or more carbons or the sulfur atom-containing group has a carbonyl group and a tertiary or more carbon atom bonded to the carbonyl group.
