<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the formation of SnO<SB>2</SB>and surely reduce a defect originated from the SnO<SB>2</SB>caused on the manufactured glass plate without depending on the number of a tuyere disposed at a molten glass supply passage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a device 1 for manufacturing the glass plate provided with the tuyere 7 for regulating a flow rate of the molten glass 2 by blocking a part of the molten glass 2 in the molten glass supply passage 3 for supplying the molten glass 2 molten at the glass melting furnace to a float bath 5, a gas supply means 10 for supplying an inert gas to an inert gas after the supply at a gap 9 formed between both side surfaces 7a of the tuyere 7 and both sidewalls 3a of the molten glass supply passage 3 opposed to the side surfaces and imparting the flow directing toward the upstream side and down stream side of the tuyere 7 from the gap 9 is provided.
