<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise holding force for holding a member to be held by the caulked part of a caulked workpiece. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When the caulked part is formed by bending an unworked part 8x of a bearing holder 8, compressive force is applied to the end face 14b of an outer race with a cylindrical pressing member 26 aside from pressure transmitted from a caulking roller 24. Thus, the unworked part 8x is made larger in the bending width than that in the state where the outer race is not shrunk because the caulking is performed in the state where the outer race is shrunk to a certain degree in the direction of the holding force. When the compressive force to the outer race is eliminated by lowering the hydraulic pressure of the pressurizing mechanism 23a after caulking, repulsive force in the opposite direction of the compressive force is generated in the outer race. Because this repulsive force is added to the holding force which is generated in the peripheral wall part 8c of the bearing holder 8 by caulking, the holding force is raised.
