<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldaway portable workbench for preventing a debris from scattering during use of a portable tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The foldaway portable workbench includes a base plate 21 on which the portable tool to be used is mounted, cover plates 31, 41 and 41 pivoted to the base plate 21 so that it can rise/fall on the plate 21 for receiving the debris to prevent it from scattering in a standing posture, and a handle 51 provided to be rotatable around a rotation shaft 52 at a rim 21c of the base plate 21. The handle 51 includes a grip 51a to be held when carried and a cover plate lock 51c integrally provided at an opposite position to the grip 51a across the rotation shaft 52. The lock 51c is positioned outward from the rim 21c of the base plate 21. While the foldaway portable workbench 11 is carried, the lock 51c protrudes inward from the rim 21c as the handle 51 in conjunction with turning around the rotation shaft 52, whereby the lock 51c restrains motion of the cover plates 31, 41 and 41 laid on the base plate 21.
