<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root canal treatment system capable of preventing an engine reamer from being inserted in the root canal of a tooth too deep. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This system 1 is provided with the engine reamer 11 to be inserted to the root canal of a tooth, a drive source for rotationally driving the engine reamer 11, and a detection means 51 for electrically detecting a distance between the root chip of the root canal 32 and the distal end of the engine reamer 11. Then, at the point of time at which the distance detected by the detection means 51 reaches a prescribed reference value, the rotational drive of the engine reamer 11 is automatically stopped.
