<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a freeze screen and a black screen when succeeding reproduction is started when a frame stopped during preceding reproduction is an error in the case of performing resume reproduction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: While starting the reproduction of a moving picture, a system control part 50 determines whether moving picture data are normally reproduced upon the stop of the reproduction of the moving picture (directly before stopping) when there is an instruction to stop reproducing the moving picture due to the operation of an operating part 70. When the moving picture is not normally reproduced, that is, it is determined that an error occurs, the system control part 50 seeks a frame to be recorded as a resume reproduction position, and records the frame after a reproduction position stopped by receiving the stop instruction as a resume reproduction position.
