PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein usage of a coloring material is excessively reduced by placing greater emphasis on cost to degrade image quality, or the effect of reduction of the usage of the coloring material is deteriorated by placing greater emphasis on the image quality. SOLUTION: A CMM conversion processing part 2B executes a CMM conversion process by using a CMM conversion LUT for a coloring material usage reduction mode when a designation for reducing the usage of the coloring material used in subjecting input image data to color print is made, compresses a chroma region to be set to a figure similar to that in full color print and compresses a brightness characteristic to be enhanced as a whole relative to that in full color print by using a color gamut in subjecting an input image to full color print as a reference in executing a conversion process from an RGB color space to a CMY color space, and converts the input image data to data where the usage of the coloring material is set identical to that in subjecting the input image to monochrome print.
