PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for correcting variations in reception transmission characteristic among a plurality of unit antennas in an array antenna device equipped with the plurality of unit antennas. SOLUTION: This distance measuring device operates in a normal mode for measuring its distance up to a radio frequency tag, and operates in a calibration mode for finding a correction value to the reception transmission characteristic of each receiving unit antenna 18. In the calibration mode, a terminal A of a transmission-side switch 14 is connected to its terminal C. Moreover, terminals D of reception-side switches 22 are connected to their terminals F. A transmission signal generating section 10 outputs a reference sinusoidal signal R to each radio receiving section 24. Each characteristic correction section 28 stores a correction value acquired based on the sinusoidal wave R.
