PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device which is improved in efficiency of exhaustion from an exhaust port formed in a cover member opposed to an axial fan at a predetermined interval, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the exhaust device. SOLUTION: The exhaust device includes the axial fan 100 comprising a rotary blade 101 which rotates on a rotary shaft 107 as a center to generate an air flow and a housing 102 which includes an opening that the air flow passes through at both end surface portions opposed to each other in the shaft direction of the rotary shaft with the rotary blade interposed, and also includes an outer peripheral wall 103 enclosing the rotary blade in a virtual plane orthogonal to the shaft direction of the rotary shaft, and provided to a device body frame 55; and a cover member 60 opposed to the axial fan at a predetermined interval, having an exhaust port 61 formed adjacently to the axial fan, and covering the device body frame outside the device body, the exhaust opening being bored up to at least the position where a virtual straight line passing an exhaustion-side outer peripheral edge A of the rotary blade on the same virtual plane containing the center of the rotary shaft and an exhaustion-side end B of an outer peripheral wall to reach the cover member crosses the cover member.
