PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber gyro having a simple structure, capable of detecting rotational angular speed highly accurately. SOLUTION: In a light signal amplifying device 14 inserted into a loop-shaped optical fiber 12, the whole or a part of peripheral light having a wavelength other thanλ1 of clockwise direction light Lcw and counterclockwise direction light Lccw is reflected by an optical fiber grating part 32, and inputted again into a semiconductor light amplifier 30. Hereby, the peripheral light showing intensity inversion is fed back, and thereby a gain of the semiconductor light amplifier 30 is modulated corresponding to input light to acquire a negative-feedback light amplification effect, to thereby reduce waveform distortion of the clockwise direction light Lcw and the counterclockwise direction light Lccw. A modulation degree of each light is heightened, and a beat signal SB generated by a frequency differenceΔf thereof is also acquired sharply, and accuracy of a beat frequency fb acquired from analysis of the beat signal SB and rotational angular speedωacquired from the beat frequency fb can be acquired sufficiently.
