The device has two platens (2, 3) slidingly mounted relative to each other along a longitudinal direction, and a force measurement cell (1) placed outside the platens. Two reception housings (6, 7) respectively receive two test plates (8, 9) with respect to exterior faces (37, 38) of the platens, where a fixation assembles the platens and the test plates. A sliding rail (10) and a slider (11) respectively include two flanges (14, 16) applying force on the cell with respect to resulting force exerted on the platens during installation of the fixation to deform the cell. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a fixation.
