<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup apparatus which is compact, inexpensive, and efficient by reducing the number of components even when using a plurality of laser elements. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup apparatus includes: a first light source element which emits first laser light; a second light source element which is disposed in vicinity to the first light source element and emits second laser light in the same direction as the first laser light; a common optical path which guides the first laser light and the second laser light to an optical recording medium along a common optical axis; and a diffraction grating which is disposed between the first and second light source elements and the common optical path and has a first diffraction grating diffracting the first laser light and a second diffraction grating diffracting the second laser light which are formed in divided areas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
