<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a clear image with no subject shadow, unwanted reflection light or reflection from an image photographed with flash light and an image photographed without flash light. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A digital camera comprises: an imaging apparatus that outputs an image signal of a captured image; a stroboscope device that emits flash light toward a subject when capturing the subject by means of the imaging apparatus; a memory for temporarily storing a first image captured without emitting the flash light and a second image captured with the flash light emitted; an image correlation detecting circuit for reading and comparing the first image and the second image temporarily stored in the memory to detect an image portion with no correlation; and a corrected image generating circuit that cuts the image portion without correlation away from the first image, cancels the image portion without correlation from the second image and fits the image portion cut away from the first image into the canceled portion to produce a third image.
