<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device having a casing filled with nitrogen gas irrespective of a change in external atmospheric pressure and without needing any additional large device such as a tank or a pump. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device A includes casings 1 and 2, a magnetic disk 5 disposed in the casings and rotated by a spindle motor 4, a nitrogen separation film module 3 for separating nitrogen from air outside the casings, a nitrogen introduction path 33 disposed to guide nitrogen from the nitrogen separation film module 3 into the casings, and a negative pressure generation means 7 disposed at the end of the nitrogen introduction path 33 in the casings to generate negative pressure by static pressure reduction in the surface of the rotated magnetic disk 5.
