<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor signal processing apparatus capable of using one sensor for a plurality of applications. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sensor ECU 3 of the sensor signal processing apparatus 6 sets the gain of a variable-gain amplifier 9, which amplifies and outputs analog sensor signals, adds information on the setting of the gain as a range bit to data of sensor signals converted from analog into digital form by an A/D converter 10, and outputs it to an ECU 4 for airbags and an ECU 5 for VSC.
