摘要 A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having improved output characteristics under low temperature conditions, wherein a low-cost Li-containing transition metal complex oxide that contains much Ni and Mn and has a lamellar structure is used as a positive electrode active material. Specifically disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising a positive electrode (11) containing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode (12) containing a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution (14) having lithium ion conductivity, wherein a lithium-containing transition metal complex oxide having a lamellar structure and represented by the following formula: Li1+xNiaMnbCocO2+d (wherein x, a, b, c and d satisfy the following relations: x + a + b + c = 1, 0.25 = a = 0.60, 0.25 = b = 0.60, 0 = c = 0.40, 0 = x = 0.10, 0.7 = a/b = 2.0 and -0.1 = d = 0.1) is used as a positive electrode active material, and the surface of the positive electrode active material is covered with an amorphous carbon material, while introducing a conductive agent composed of an amorphous carbon material between particles of the positive electrode active material.
