The device has a diaphragm pump (1) for sucking fuel from a fuel tank (2) and a high-pressure pump (3) at the downstream. The high-pressure pump is provided upstream to a separate storage volume (15) for outgassing of volatile fuel components. The storage volume is designed as separate container, which is fastenable to a housing of the high-pressure pump. The storage volume has an inlet (16) that is connected with the diaphragm pump and another inlet (17) connected with a return line (22) of the high-pressure pump. A nozzle (25) is provided in the return line of the high-pressure pump. The diaphragm pump is designed as a prefeed pump.
