HALF MIRROR AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME

Provided is a half mirror which employs any desired substrate, has any desired shape, and is excellent in appearance and design.  Also provided is a process for producing the half mirror. The process for half mirror production comprises: an organic-film formation step in which a priming composition comprising an addition-polymerizable compound having three or more reactive groups, an addition-polymerizable compound having an acidic group, and an addition-polymerizable compound having a hydrophilic functional group is applied to a transparent substrate or transparent film and is polymerized to form an organic film; a metal salt formation step in which the acidic group is converted into a metal (M1) salt; a metal fixation step in which the organic film is treated with an aqueous solution of ions of a metal (M2) having lower ionization tendency than the metal (M1), and the metal (M1) salt of the acidic group is thereby converted to a metal (M2) salt; and a reduction step in which the ions of the metal (M2) are reduced to form a metal film on the surface of the organic film.
