The system comprises at least one pair of light sources (1;2;3) which emit pulsed electromagnetic radiation in the near infrared range; at least one pair of light sources (1;2;3) which emit radiation in the near ultraviolet range; at least one photodetector (4) with its absorption band situated in the near infrared range, for detecting pulsed radiation transmitted and reflected in the biological organism, with the aid of the pulsed radiation emitted by the pair of light sources which emit the radiation in the near infrared; at least one photodetector (5) with its absorption band situated in the near ultraviolet range, for detecting pulsed radiation transmitted and reflected in the biological organism, with the aid of the pulsed radiation emitted by the pair of light sources (1;2;3) which emit the radiation in the near ultraviolet range; a control unit (8(c)) which interprets the pulsed radiation transmitted and reflected in the biological organism; and a processing unit (8(d)) which determines whether it is a living biological organism, with the aid of the radiation interpreted by the control unit.
