A mobile terminal device and a backup viewing service system, capable of reflecting user's interest and wishes in utilizing a backup viewing service are provided. A mobile terminal device 50 for receiving a digital terrestrial broadcasting oriented to the mobile terminal from a broadcasting station 10 is equipped with a controlling portion 61, a setting saving portion 56 for saving information being set by a user, and a genre saving portion 57 for counting a number of times of the digital broadcasting program that the user watches every genre and saving the count. When the“genre viewed X times in the past”is selected from a genre selection menu, the controlling portion 61 refers to the set number of viewing times save in the setting saving portion 56 and the number of viewing times saved in the genre saving portion 57, and then compares them with each other. When the number of viewing times exceeds the set number of viewing times, such a situation is set automatically that the backup viewing service is set into available in that genre.
