The invention relates to a system, to an apparatus, and to a method for saving the ink/toner of a printer. The system for saving ink/toner of the present invention includes a control unit for displaying an ink saving policy and output information to a manager, storing an ink saving policy and output information, and setting an ink saving policy and receiving output information, as well as a user PC connected to the control unit through a network to receive the saving rate according to an ink saving policy from the control unit, and which makes a request for printing to a printer with the received saving rate. The user PC transmits output information to the control unit through the network, and the control unit stores the received output information. As the present invention enables the saving rate to vary in accordance with the type or the characteristics of the document, the ink/toner saving effect is improved. The present invention is capable of saving ink/toner regardless of the instructions of a printer, and of preventing a reduction in print speed. |
