The device has a cleaning chamber (4), in which a section of a tool housing (1) is brought. The section has a surface (3) that has to be cleaned. A dry ice system is applied by a controller (8) of a jet nozzle, by which the dry ice is beamed on the surface that has to be cleaned. The dry ice system has a source of carbon di-oxide. An independent claim is included for a method for cleaning a tool housing by a cleaning chamber.
