A pin for securing a tooth crown to a tooth root comprises a stainless steel threaded rod 10 having a head 12, the head having a maximum cross-sectional dimension of 3 mm. and a length between 2 mm. and 6 mm. The crosssection of the head is hexagonal, square or round. In use the pin is threaded into a tapped hole in a tooth root, the head ground to a suitable shape and the crown secured over it by cement. The root is made either in one piece with the head or glued, cemented, threaded or processed to a head of brass or plastics. |
