The illumination ring (1) has a rotating light guiding unit (2) for guiding an actuator, and comprising a front side light emitting surface (4). The light emitting surface encloses an actuation area of the actuator and a rear side light emitting surface (8). The light guiding unit is designed to guide light along a circumferential direction (U), where the light enters through the rear side light emitting surface. The light guiding unit has a hollow cylindrically designed region (3), and a curved light conductor section (9) after the rear side light emitting surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an illumination ring.
