METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH-PURITY CARBON BLACK

A method for producing a purified carbon black by removing a metal from an aqueous carbon black dispersion, which comprises a step wherein the metal is removed by bringing the aqueous carbon black dispersion into contact with at least one organic acid selected from the group consisting of glycolic acid, ascorbic acid and malonic acid.  The method is capable of producing a purified carbon black in which the amount of metal components such as iron contained in the carbon black as impurities is reduced.
