Disclosed is an optical film having a layer A which is composed of a resin composition P1 containing a resin x1 having a positive intrinsic birefringence and a resin y1 having a negative intrinsic birefringence, and a layer B which is composed of a resin composition P2 containing a resin x2 having a positive intrinsic birefringence and a resin y2 having a negative intrinsic birefringence. The optical film is characterized in that the retardations R450, R550 and R650 at an incident angle of 0° satisfy the following relation: R450 550 650, and the retardation Re at an incident angle of 0° and the retardation R40 at an incident angle of 40° satisfy the following relation: 0.92 = R40/Re = 1.08. A liquid crystal display comprising the optical film is also disclosed. |
