The drive (1) has a four-poled brush-afflicted direct current motor (2) with two pairs of poles (8, 9) durably operated at each independent power stage (5, 6). Each power-measuring area controls and/or limits respective phase currents and is provided for the pairs of poles. A recognition and evaluation device recognizes and evaluates a short-circuit situation at lines (11, 12) or at the motor and in an electronic controller. A voltage measuring area is provided for the power stages for measuring an applied voltage of the respective pair of poles. |
