The invention proposes an approach, where on the recording side, after conventional ECC encoding, parity bits aiming at typical error pattern correction are inserted first, after which the resulting bitstream is channel modulated. Correspondingly, at the readback side, the parity-based postprocessing takes place after channel demodulation. |
