Provided is a replacement basket (100) configured to house a pellet bed (30) through which fluid may pass. The flow direction of the fluid prevents the bed of pellets (30) from fluidizing within the replacement basket (100). Provided also is a system using the replacement basket (100) and a method of providing pellets (30) in the replacement basket (100). The replacement basket (100) includes a top surface portion (105), a bottom (110), and at least one vertical wall (115) with a hole (120). The hole (120) is configured to allow a flow of fluid to enter the replacement basket (100). A plenum (140), below the pellet bed (30), may allow a flow of fluid to proceed through the pellet bed (125) in a downward direction. A central pipe (145) is provided in the replacement basket (100) to allow the flow of fluid in the basket (100) to exit the replacement basket (100).
