A floating plant cultivation platform7for growing sunflowers1for biomass fuel comprises a wedge of expanded polystyrene. The slope of the wedge may be 17° to the horizontal. The sloping top of the wedge has channeled waterways. The top may also have growing medium3and reflective sheeting4which is held in place by spikes. The sunflowers1are supported by rods2positioned in the wedge. The wedge may be fixed to a wooden lattice frame.
