摘要 Methods, devices, and systems for smart load balancing are provided, particularly for incoming calls in a call centre arrangement. SIP Requests destined for a particular Address of Record (AOR) are delivered to one of several registered contact addresses according to associated availability score information stored in a routing element's contact resolution table. The availability score information is periodically updated 408 by the contact entity itself using the SIP PUBLISH mechanism to push the score to the routing element 420, 424 [204, Fig. 2]. Alternatively the contact entity may use the SIP PUBLISH mechanism to update its availability score upon occurrence of a significant change in its availability status 412. The availability score may also may include an absolute availability score corresponding to the availability at the time of transmission of the SIP PUBLISH message and May also comprise an adjustby field which identifies a value by which the availability score is to be adjusted when a call is forwarded to the contact entity [524, Fig. 5]. The arrangement may further comprise manual or automatic registration mechanisms to populate the contact resolution table and the network element may present a score signature and a Contact Resolution Algorithm name (CRA-name) as part of its registration request.
