<p>1,095,684. Programmed control of movement. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORPORATION. July 29, 1966 [Aug. 4, 1965], No . 34201/66. Heading G3N. A self-controlled variable time base tape programmer for controlling the movement of a remote device includes a tape, a means for moving the tape and a code on the tape for controlling the means for moving the tape independently of the movement of the remote device so that the rate of movement of the tape provides a predetermined variable time base. As shown, a programme tape 13, bearing binary coded control information in tracks c - g, is provided with a pair of tracks a, b, determining the tape speed, which are read by heads in assembly 14 the outputs of which selectively actuate switches a<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>1</SP> shunting resistors R1, R2 controlling the pulse rate of a generator 10 energizing a stepper motor 11 driving the tape through a sprocket 12. The binary coded control information is read by heads in assembly 14 the outputs of which selectively actuate shunting switches c<SP>1</SP> - g<SP>1</SP> for binary valued resistors R connected in series with a constant current source (not shown), variable control voltage being derived from lines 15-16.</p> |
