Novel method for producing biodiesel using an immobilised catalyst

The present invention is related to a method for the production of a fatty acid alkylester by transesterification of a fat or oil and an alcohol, wherein:
€¢ the reaction is catalysed by a heterogeneous catalyst immobilised in a tubular reactor,
€¢ temperature is between 260 and 420°C,
€¢ pressure is higher than 5 bar, and
€¢ a mixture of said fat or oil and said alcohol is led in a continuous flow through said tubular reactor.
