PURPOSE: A digital video recorder driving method and a driving device thereof are provided to improve the output quality of audio data when changing a channel to the other channel by saving and using a 16bit PCM estimation value and an index for 4bit ADPCM audio data. CONSTITUTION: A digital video recorder driving device includes a data input unit(110), an AD converting unit(115), an encoding unit(120), a CPU(130), a data storage unit(135), an estimation value generating unit(140), an estimation value detecting unit(150), a decoding buffer(160), a decoding unit(165), a DA converting unit(170), and a data output unit(175). The estimation value generating unit generates an index of 16bit PCM estimation value and a 16bit PCM estimation value of 4bit ADPCM audio data generated in the encoding unit.
