PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to notify virus infection to other terminals when the virus infection is detected, thereby enabling a virus scanning process. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communications unit(110) offers a communications interface. If a virus infection action is detected, a control unit(180) blocks the virus infection action and notifies virus infection to selected terminals through the wireless communications unit. The selected terminal is selected based on a calling list, a message transceiving list, a contact list, or a network access history. The selected terminal is a terminal which is connected by local area communication through the wireless communications unit.
