PURPOSE: A photographing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to select a desired photographing method to photograph, thereby always selecting a desired photographing method without respect to limits of specification of hardware to photograph and obtain a dynamic range extending image data. CONSTITUTION: The first photographing method photographs at least twice with different exposure. The first photographing method processes at least two image data to obtain one dynamic range extending image data. The first photographing method can photograph by a needed exposure ratio. The first photographing method is used when a flash does not emit light. The second photographing method photographs by underexposure with a level based on a set dynamic range. The second photographing method processes obtained image data to obtain one dynamic range extending image data. The second photographing method can photograph by a needed exposure ratio. The second photographing method is used when a flash emits light. The third photographing method photographs at least twice by underexposure by a level based on the set dynamic range and with different exposure. One dynamic range extending image data is obtained by processing at least image data obtained by the third photographing method. The third photographing method is used when it is impossible to photograph with a needed exposure ratio. A photographing device selects a desired photographing method among the three photographing methods and photographs by the selected photographing method(A7). |
