<p>The disclosure relates to a synergistic pharmaceutical composition, that is parenterally administrable, comprising an anti bacterially effective amount of at least two anti bacterial agents which are chemically incompatible wherein: a) a first anti bacterial agent consisting of Vancomycin, or a pharmaceutical acceptable salt thereof, and b) a second anti bacterial agent consisting of Ceftriaxone, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, c) the said first and said second antibacterial agents are present in predetermined weight ratio of about 1:4 to about 4: 1, preferably from about 1:3 to about 3:1 and more preferably from about 1:2 to about 2:1 along with d) a chemical vector, to mediate the compatibility of the said first antibacterial agent and the said second antibacterial agent to render stability to the composition, which is L arginine in the range of about 35% to about 75% of the combined weight of said first and said second antibacterial agent, e) the composition thus formed has lower dose of therapeutic agents which is safe due to decrease in toxicity, increased efficacy and minimizes the risk of systemic effects f) said pharmaceutical composition being supplied as a dry powder premix ready for injection after reconstitution in a suitable vehicle, g) for the use as an antimicrobial fixed dose combination therapy for a mammal including the human being with the provision that said combination therapy does not encompass administration of two or more therapeutic agents as part of separate mono therapy regimens that results in sequential or simultaneous treatment. Also disclosed is a process for preparing a suitable solvent vehicle containing said pharmaceutical composition and the use of said pharmaceutical composition in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of disorders caused by gram positive or gram negative organisms.</p> |
