Provided is a method for screening for a substance having an action of proliferating natural killer (NK) cells in a living body of a non-human animal, which comprises: administering a test substance every day for 7 days to the non-human animal and administering polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid once on day 5, counting from starting dose of the test substance, thereby enhancing an action of the test substance for proliferating NK cells; detecting the action of proliferating NK cells in the non-human animal based on an action of enhancing or activating a natural killer activity; and selecting a test substance capable of proliferating NK cells.
