The system has an electromechanical parking brake control unit (6) connecting a parking brake control unit (5) i.e. control knob, to brake actuators that are installed at a level of vehicle wheels. Communication units i.e. wire connections (14.3), connect the former control unit and a logic controller (9) of electric machines (4.1-4.4). The former control unit includes receiving units for receiving messages transmitted by the controller, and transmitting units transmit application set points of electrical braking torque towards the controller when the vehicle is in a rolling state. An independent claim is also included for a method for using a braking system.
