PURPOSE: A system for providing identification information of a mobile communication provider and a method thereof are provided to output a predetermined tone to a calling terminal according to comparison result of mobile communication provider of a calling terminal and a called terminal, thereby enabling a user to confirm billing discount benefit information. CONSTITUTION: A provider ID server(140) stores mobile communication provider information corresponding to a mobile communication terminal. If a called terminal(120) and a calling terminal(110) receives a predetermined code, a call controller(160) transmits a feature request message to an HSS(Home Subscriber Server)(130). The feature request message questions whether the mobile communication provider of the calling terminal and the called terminal is same. If a feature response message is received, the call controller transmits information included in the message to the calling terminal in order to output a predetermined tone.
