PURPOSE: A solar battery and a manufacturing method thereof of the present invention materially enlarge the p-n junction area by omitting an edge isolation process. The sunlight light accepting capability of the solar battery is improved. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor layer(102) of the second conductive type having the opposite conductive in the surface of a semiconductor substrate(100) having first conductivity type is formed. The semiconductor layer formed in the back side of semiconductor substrate is formed into an oxide film(104). A back contact electrode(108) is extensively formed on an oxide film. At this time, a part of the back contact electrode is touched through the oxide film with the semiconductor substrate. A front electrode(109) contacting the second electrical conduction semiconductor layer is formed. |
