Disclosed is a cutting tool and an associated method of assembling the cutting tool. The cutting tool (10) includes a shank (16) with a shank cavity (48); an adaptor (18) with a bore (90), the bore (90) generally extending along a bore axis, the adaptor (18) generally extending in a direction transverse to the bore axis; a retaining element (20) with a hook (102) at least partially located in the bore (90), the adaptor (18) and the retaining element (20) being threadedly engaged within the shank cavity (48); and a cutting head (12) with a forward cutting portion (22) and a rear fastening portion (24). The fastening portion (24) of the cutting head (12) is threadedly engaged with the adaptor (18). |
