Earphone and noise cancellation system

An active noise cancellation earphone is disclosed. The earphone includes a housing having an acoustic outlet receivable in the auditory canal of a user. The housing has a carrier which supports a speaker and a microphone, where the speaker and microphone may be coupled to a feedback controller to provide a closed loop active noise cancellation system. An acoustic seal is provided between the carrier and the housing and a vent is provided in the housing rearward of the speaker.
