[Also in Division E2] An elongated clamp for suspending large drawings &c. comprises a main channel member 10 having parallel arms 14, 16 connected by a transverse web 18, the arm 14 being considerably longer than the arm 16, and a pressure member 12 comprising a curved part 12a hooked over the bar-like head 22 of one of a number of T-bolts 20, and two angularly related portions 12b, 12c. The T-bolts pass through slots in the web 18 and are provided with wing nuts. Thus, when the nuts are tightened, the member 12 is raised, and the arm 16 wedges against the part 12b to force the part 12c against the longer arm 14 of the channel member to grip the plans &c. Leaf springs 24 urge the member 12 away from the longer arm 14. The part 12a of the pressure member could be hinged to the heads 22 of the T-bolts. The members 10 and 12 could be made of stainless steel, aluminium, or plastics material. |
