The device has a storage tank (1) for storing fluid supplied at an inlet by a drain (3). The tank is connected, at its outlet (4), to a purging unit (5). A visual control unit controls a maximum level (9) of the stored fluid, and permits visualization of maximum height reached by the fluid within the tank. The control unit includes a retention space (8) for retaining the fluid. A porthole (13) is arranged on a wall of the tank. The retention space is arranged between the porthole and an inner membrane (12).
